A young woman named Rosemary Wilcox, haunted by pop-Freudian dreams of her recently murdered psychologist (and lover), travels to a resort frequented by him and becomes entangled with a gangster named Adolf Celli and the enigmatic female resort owner Alida Valli, leading to a series of mysterious murders among the guests.
