In June 1982 in Sicily, while the world focuses on the Italians dreaming of winning the World Cup, two adolescents Gianni, 17, who faces bullying due to his homosexuality, and Nino, 16, a captivating and innocent boy, secretly dream of living their love story without fear. They meet by chance and their profound friendship blossoms into love as they work together shooting fireworks for Nino's father. When their relationship is discovered, it leads to violent repercussions due to the conservative times and societal norms, resulting in the forced separation of the two teenagers who are determined to challenge everything and everyone, believing that their love can conquer all, even death.
